I absolutely love ARTECHOUSE. It is honestly one of my favorite museums/galleries in the District. I remember the first time going to this gallery, I had just moved out to DC from IL and my Mom was visiting. We went to the gallery during the Thomas Blanchard & Oilhack exhibition “Kingdom of Colors”, and I kid you not I stayed in that gallery for hours memorized by the art. It was the longest I had ever spent looking at one single piece of art in all the galleries around the world that I have been to.
ARTECHOUSE is a unique gallery that blends digital and experiential art. The exhibits are so different fromt the classic oil and watercolor paintings you are used to seeing at the National Gallery of Art.
The current main exhibit at ARTECHOUSE (for only a short amount of time longer) is their Beyond Light Exhibit.
Developed in collaboration with NASA to help interpret the data they collect about the universe, this exhibit is “an original artistic expression of scientific discoveries, is the story of how human innovation has enabled us to see beyond our imaginations and into the furthest reaches of the cosmos.”
